M&S Asphalt Paving wants every visitor to be able to read this site, understand what we do, and reach us for an estimate.

M&S Asphalt Paving LLC wants this website to work for as many people as possible, including visitors using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or voice control. We treat accessibility the way we treat a compacted base. It is part of building the thing correctly, not something added at the end.
What standard are we working to?
We aim at the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the benchmark most often referenced in the United States, including under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It governs things like readable color contrast, text alternatives for images, keyboard access to every control, and page structure a screen reader can follow in a sensible order.
What have we actually done?
- Every page opens with a "Skip to Main Content" link so keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
- Pages use real headings in order, one H1 each, and semantic landmarks for the header, navigation, main content, and footer.
- Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
- Text and button colors were measured against the backgrounds they actually sit on, and the ones that fell short of the required contrast ratio were changed.
- Links inside body text are underlined, so color is never the only thing marking them.
- The navigation, the dropdown menus, the estimate forms, and the floating call and back-to-top buttons all work by keyboard and show a visible focus outline.
- Form fields have real labels tied to them, and validation messages are read out rather than shown only in red.
- Buttons and tap targets are sized for a thumb, and the layout reflows down to a small phone screen without sideways scrolling.
What is still imperfect?
We are not going to claim the site is flawless. Two areas we are watching:
- The project gallery leans on visual detail that alternative text can only carry so far. If a photo matters to you and the description falls short, call and we will describe the job.
- The map and the spam protection on our forms are built by other companies, and we do not control their markup. If one of them blocks you, tell us and we will get you the information another way.
How do you report a problem?
If any part of this site is hard to use, we want to hear it from you directly, and we would rather fix it than have you work around it. Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a box you check once. Pages get run through automated testing and manual keyboard checks when they change, and reported problems get fixed rather than logged and forgotten. This statement will be updated as that work continues.
